After two weeks of camp, we wrapped up with our Blueboy Nation scrimmage. We ran well over 100 plays and feel that we developed well. It was a great finish to two hard weeks! We have our guys going from 7am to 10pm. We don't leave a lot of free time...but if you want to be great you have to be dedicated! Of course, it's not all football, all the time. We do other things that help our players, such as "study tips" sessions and "introduction to college" sessions. Also, over the last few weeks of camp, we had 10 different guest speakers. They spoke on various topics such as meal plans, the writing center, the Student Activities Center and even a picnic with the President and his wife.
I feel that our student-athletes are ready for the start of the season and the start of school. We are excited to kick-off this season this next Saturday at Millikin University. I know we'll be excited to get going. Also, on Sunday we'll have a JV game! We put a lot of emphasis on our JV games. After all, we know as coaches, that we are only preparing these young men to have success in the Saturday games!
